Swedish speaker specialist, Audio Pro has started a collaboration with Swedish boat manufacturer Nimbus Group to supply speakers for use in their boat models and beyond.
Expecting good sound even when you are at sea may seem a stretch, but Audio Pro is collaborating with fellow Swedish specialist, Nimbus Group so the boat manufacturer can offer its customers superb audio options anywhere they travel.
A special version of Audio Proβs portable A15 speaker is offered as an option for Nimbus Coupe boats and the products can also be purchased via the Nimbus aftermarket service. The battery-powered design means the boat owner can enjoy amazing sound both at sea and on land.
Elin Myhrman, Category Manager at Nimbus Group, had previous professional experience with Audio Pro and thought that the Swedish speaker manufacturer would be the ideal choice to put in a Swedish-made boat. "Among Nimbus' core values are Scandinavian design and quality, something that we believe Audio Pro's concept matches very well with. Their products match well in both design and qualityβ, says Elin Myhrman.
Jens Henriksen, CCO at Audio Pro explains, "For us, it goes without saying music lovers should not have to be limited by where they are in order to enjoy good sound. You should be able to listen to your favourite music even when you are in your boat, in the same way as you do when you are at home. Many call the boat their second home, so they want to be able to have similar amenities there as they would do at home."
The speaker Nimbus has chosen to use is a variant of the Audio Pro A15 - a portable speaker that is IPX2 rated. The speaker is adapted to be placed on the wall shelf, but thanks to its convenient carry handle on the back, it can also be easily carried on, for example, a picnic or other activity outside the boat. As the speaker is battery-powered, your favourite music can be played for up to 11 hours, even when there is no mains power.
The collaboration is just getting started. The very first Nimbus-branded speakers have just been delivered, and the company expects demand for sound will pick up as Sweden comes into the popular summer boating season. "We expect full speed on the sound, at the same time as full speed on the sea," concludes Elin Myhrman.
